Aquatic Weed Harvesting
Aquatic weeds are becoming a significant problem on some waterways in Manitoba. Algae blooms and climate change are part of the problem, but zebra mussels are, by far, the biggest part of the problem.
From fouled propellers and mired sailboat keels to clogged intakes on jet skis, all watercraft are affected by this surge in weed growth. This is far more than an inconvenience… In many cases, it represents a danger to safe navigation of our waterways.
Boundary Creek Marina was the first (and so far the only) operator to acquire a harvester and get government permission to allow for this active approach to dealing with the weeds on a designated waterway in Manitoba. If aquatic weeds are an issue for you, ask us how we can help!
